Standards for Excellence 2.0 This class is provided in partnership with the United Way of North ...‹more› This class is provided in partnership with the United Way of Northwest Oklahoma, Oklahoma Center for Non-Profits, OG&E, and Cherokee Strip Community Foundation. Standards for Excellence is a nationally accredited curriculum that teaches best practices for nonprofit management, governance, and legal compliance. The foundation of the Standards for Excellence® program is the published Standards for Excellence®: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector. It identifies 6 major areas of nonprofit governance and management which contain 27 different topic areas. Each topic area includes specific benchmarks and measures that provide a structured approach to building capacity, accountability, and sustainability in your organization. In the summer of 2015, the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits released Standards for Excellence 2.0. The new curriculum includes expanded and enhanced benchmarks, including 78 benchmarks for best practices; new sample policies in social media and information technologies all nonprofits need to know; and improved information on outcome based measurements and logic models to prove mission impact.

Many of these accidents are preventable. If a worker recognizes a situation in which there is the potential for themselves or a coworker being injured, or if there is a potential of a release of a contaminant to the environment, that worker has a responsibility to stop the work that is being done until the potential danger has been removed and the issue resolved. Upon completion of this course, the learner will demonstrate the ability to identify the elements of a stop work authority program and employee responsibilities in a stop work authority program. This course is presented in English and Spanish.

Surface Transportation Emergency Preparedness and Security - Freight The Surface Transportation Emergency Preparedness and Security for ...‹more› The Surface Transportation Emergency Preparedness and Security for Freight by Rail or Highway (STEPS-Freight) course goal is to provide participants with the training necessary to identify the roles and responsibilities of preparedness, prevention, and response to emergencies involving surface transportation freight and passenger systems. Participants will be able to identify the hazards of Hazardous Material/ Weapons of Mass Destruction (HazMat/WMD/IEDs and apply this information to the appropriately to the applicable areas of an incident. Participants will gain familiarization with NIMS/NRF in order prioritize organizational management needs, resource allocation, evacuation strategies and response operations. Participants will demonstrate proficiency during an incident while providing solutions to minimize the impact to the responders, the citizens, the environment, and the critical infrastructure of the area and address the priorities of the National Preparedness Guidelines and Target Capabilities List to include Mission Areas such as Communications, Planning, Risk Management, CBRNE Detection, Critical Infrastructure Protection, On-site Incident Management, Responder Safety and Health, Citizen Evacuation and Shelter-in-Place, and others.

Participants will be introduced to a clear overview of freight and passenger system threats facing jurisdictions/organizations of public and private officials and the organizational structure that must be implemented according to the National Response Framework (NRF) in an incident. This course will provide information on how to identify threats and vulnerabilities of freight and passenger system operations within their jurisdictions/organizations, to recognize and prioritize the importance of facility and conveyance hardening, to gain familiarization with the National Incident Management System (NIMS)/National Response Framework (NRF) to prioritize organizational immediate actions and response operations, and to develop and apply management/planning tools for counter Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) operations and evacuations. The effects of job-related trauma as well as how to take control of your “off-duty” time will also be discussed. This course is easily adapted for presentation to different types of First Responder groups who may have different assignments and duties but often share similar “Common Reactions to Stress and Trauma”.
