This course also covers the means of protection against hydrogen sulfide and the precautionary steps that should be taken when entering a dangerous hydrogen sulfide atmosphere. | |
| H2S-OSU Fire Service Training | This course, delivered in alignment with the ANSI Z390.1 - 2024 training standards and industry-recognized SafeLand principles, provides participants with essential knowledge and awareness of the hazards associated with hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). The training is designed to support workforce competency in oil and gas and related industries where exposure to H₂S may occur. The course focuses on hazard recognition, atmospheric monitoring, and response actions necessary to work safely in environments where H₂S is present or may be encountered. Participants will gain an understanding of the physical and chemical properties of H₂S, including its toxicity, flammability, and behavior in various operating conditions. | |
| Handling Combative and Difficult Behaviors in Dementia and Alzheimers Care | This class focuses on equipping caregivers with the skills to manage combative or difficult behaviors in individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Caregivers will learn to identify the triggers behind aggressive or resistant actions, understand the emotional and cognitive challenges at play, and explore strategies for de-escalating conflicts in a compassionate and effective manner. The class will cover techniques such as calm communication, distraction, redirection, and setting appropriate boundaries, helping caregivers respond to difficult situations with confidence and empathy. | HAZMAT AWARENESS | Hazardous materials are all around us in workplaces, transportation, and even in everyday products. This training gives workers the knowledge they need to recognize hazardous materials and understand how to respond safely. Students will learn about common HAZMAT classes, labeling systems, safety data sheets (SDS), and the basics of spill response and personal protective equipment (PPE). The course also introduces OSHA, DOT, and EPA requirements for hazardous materials awareness. Upon completion, participants will be prepared to identify potential hazards and take the right steps to protect themselves and others. | |

| Helping Young People Deal with Mean People | Based on the work of social psychologists and communications experts, this workshop provides resilience-based strategies that adults can share with young people to help them respond to rumors, insults, and aggression BEFORE involving teachers and school administrators. Exercises conducted in the class will help adult learners explore the effectiveness of various responses to difficult situations. Barbara Sweatt, LCSW is a therapist in private practice in Enid, OK. She has provided counseling services to people of all ages, including children in Enid Public Schools. Since the death of Nex Benedict, she has been devoted to finding and sharing information about appropriate responses to bullying. | |
| Hoisting and Rigging | Our Basic Rigger program is designed to develop riggers’ knowledge, skills, abilities with several types of rigging practices. The rigger will be able to recognize the limitations, safe work practices, and proper inspection methods of equipment and hardware used in rigging and lifting operations. Rigger’s will understand and apply safety standards and work practices for safe cranes operations that involve power lines, weather conditions, functions and how to respond to various incidents. Rigger’s will have understanding and demonstrate various communications methods used in crane operations. Training is developed to meet/ exceed current ASME & OSHA standards and Accredited through The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Trainees will receive certification and wallet cards after completing written exams and performance evaluations. Our Basic Rigger’s program is developed to meet ANSI/ ASSP Z490.1-2016 Accepted Practices for Safety Health and Environmental training.
