Oklahoma Cryptozoology 101: Bigfoot and Others | Cryptozoology is the study of creatures whose existence is disputed or unsubstantiated. In this class, the instructor will cover cryptid related topics such as: Differing types of cryptids in Oklahoma (Bigfoot, Dogman, Deer Woman, Little People, Oklahoma Octopus); Historical accounts of cryptids in Oklahoma and North America; Modern day reports from eyewitnesses; Known behaviorisms of cryptids; Field research tactics; Light phenomenon associated with these creatures; and The Woo. Students will earn a competency based certificate upon completion of the training. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife; Archery in the Schools | Through the Oklahoma National Archery in the Schools (OKNASP) Program, students have the chance to excel today, tomorrow, and throughout a lifetime in the unique sport of archery. The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), of which OKNASP is a part, is a coordinated effort and partnership between schools, state wildlife agencies, and the nation’s archery industry. Autry Tech in-district students receive enrollment preference and discounts. Total costs and fees will be applied to out-of-district students. | |
Oklahoma Department of Wildlife; Explore Bowfishing | Explore Bowfishing is one of the newest Outdoor Education programs currently being offered to Oklahoma schools that are incorporating the Outdoor Education programs in the classroom. This program merges the sport of fishing with archery by introducing students to the equipment and techniques used in bowfishing. Currently Oklahoma has over 150 schools participating in the Explore Bowfishing program across the state. Autry Tech in-district students receive enrollment preference and discounts. Oklahoma Department of Wildlife; Fishing Education (Aquatic Ed) | The Aquatic Resources Education Program (AREP) promotes the sport of fishing and aquatic resource awareness as well as a way to give youth, an opportunity to learn about Oklahoma's aquatic environments and how to fish. Developed in 1988, the program's objectives are: Increase the understanding, appreciation, and awareness of Oklahoma's aquatic resources. Facilitate the learning of angling skills, outdoor ethics, and sport-fishing opportunities in the state. Enhance urban fishing opportunities. Develop Family Fishing Clinics or seminars. Provide information on specialized fishing techniques. Autry Tech in-district students receive enrollment preference and discounts.
