This may involve instruction on setting up and monitoring exam environments, ensuring compliance with testing protocols, and maintaining the integrity of the examination process. | |
Flex CMA-IA Glucose Monitoring and Administration | Obtain advanced training for the care of diabetics. Training includes classroom and supervised practical training. Return demonstration of skills with proficiency of 100 percent and classroom theory testing at 90 percent or above are required. This course prepares students for CMA Advanced-IA certification through the Nurse Aide Registry. Written exam requires 80 percent or above for CMA-IA certification, clinical and written certification tests are included in the course fee. | |
Hearing Conservation | Hearing loss is a major hazard in many workplaces. This course will teach employees about noise levels, hearing hazards and recommendations on how to prevent hearing loss. Employees will learn how to define noise and noise levels, hearing loss, and recognize different types of hearing protection. | |
Heartcode BLS | Heartcode BLS is a blended learning option of CPR geared toward Healthcare Providers and First Responders. Part one of Heartcode is a computer based training done on your own time. Long Term Care Nurse Aid-Reporting Only Sessions | Utilize in person training to prepare for the LTCNA Skill and Written Exam. Master the skills to perform personal care for residents in nursing homes, assisted living centers and hospitals under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Upon completion, you will be eligible to take the certification exams for Long Term Care Nurse Aides CNA to be placed on the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s Nurse Aide Registry. Attendance during all classes and clinicals is required by state law. CPR and State certification tests are included in course fees. | |

Nurse Refresher | Are you an LPN or RN in need of an update in the world of professional nursing? The University of Oklahoma College of Nursing and participating technology centers in Oklahoma’s CareerTech system are now accepting enrollments for a Nurse Refresher course. This course offers three components: A self-paced, online nursing theoretical course; A nursing skills lab; A clinical rotation module. This course can be completed within six months. | |

Pumper Operator | Provides basic knowledge and skills in pump operations and water movement. Topics addressed in the course include general principles of pump operation, trouble shooting, apparatus safety, types of pumping apparatus, positioning apparatus, hydraulic calculations, principles of drafting, water supply considerations from hydrants and practical pump operation at fire scenes. Railroad 101 for Emergency Responders | According to the Association of American Railroads (AAR), rail is by far the safest way to move hazardous materials (hazmat). Today, more than 99.99% of rail hazmat shipments arrived at their destination without incident. But what should you do if a railroad car is involved in an accident that results in a release of hazmat to the environment? This class will be taught by BNSF's environmental team and is designed to train local responders on hazmat awareness and emergency response in the unlikely event that a hazmat emergency occurs. Topics that may be covered include: •what to expect should BNSF respond to a derailment, cleanup, or oil spill •resources available with a BNSF hazmat response •Incident Command structure Registration is encouraged. | |

ROPE RESCUE TECHNICIAN LEVEL 1 PART A | Rope Rescue Technician Level I is designed to meet the JPRs set in NFPA 1006, 2013 Edition, Chapter 6.1. This course emphasizes the importance of anchor placement and strength as well and proper rigging in order to be safe and efficient. Skills covered are: knots, anchors, belay operations, ascending and descending a fixed rope, mechanical advantage, and raising and lowering systems.
